Commissioner of Police (COP) Mr Bright Oduro [rtd], a former Director-General of CID of the Ghana Police Service, has revealed that Daniel Asiedu, also known as ‘Sexy Dondon,’ the prime suspect standing trial for the murder of late lawmaker JB Danquah Adu, is a sane person.
He stated that the suspect was not insane in his opinion. He was sane at the time, but he was stressed when I was at the CID.
”There was a DNA test conducted. There was blood and some clothes which the suspected had thrown away when he was running. There was evidence against him from the beginning before I took over.
When I took over, I also did my part before I left. I wanted to be personally involved because the suspect was not reliable. He was inconsistent with the things he said.”
The former police capo said he does not remember the suspect implicating anyone when he was at the CID.
Mr. Oduro went on to state he had the occasion to extract any information from the suspect, but he could not interrogate it for long and retired from the service.
He said he had the intention to follow up on an alleged perpetrator but could not before he retired.
He went on to say that when he found out about the information, he invited the late MP’s family to ask them about it, but they had no idea.
When asked by Kwabena Agyapong, host of Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, if the suspect was sane, he said, ”he is sane. As far as I was concerned, he was sane. I don’t know if he is now suffering sanity now. But he was very sane when I was at the CID”.
