The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the President has been taken out of context when he said he was not moved by the threats to voting against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections.
Deputy Communications Director of the governing party, Ernest Owusu-Bempah, in a statement, said the president took responsibility for the challenges and assured the residents of Kwabre that he would work to resolve the poor roads they complained about.
“The president has been misquoted. The president said it is his utmost responsibility to develop the nation and he will do that. If someone says he will vote against him it is the person’s right. It was clear the President was accepting responsibility.
“The backs stops with him and he says he will deal. the skewed publication is out of malice or being mischief,” portions of the statement said.
Speaking in an interview on Otec Fm in Kumasi, the action of the president was drawn to the concerns raised by the residents over their poor roads.
The president was told that the residents had threatened to vote out the NPP if they failed to repair the poor roads.
However, the president said he was not moved by those threats.
