Former President John Dramani Mahama has donated GH10,000 to each of the party’s orphan constituencies.
The funds will be used to assist in the organisation of the upcoming constituency elections.
On Thursday, the former president made a GH1,380,000 donation to the 138 orphan constituency (October 20, 2022).
The orphan constituencies are those in which the party does not have a sitting MP.
In a statement, the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, stated that the party was grateful to Mr Mahama for his ongoing support for the NDC.
The party plans to hold constituency elections on Saturday (October 22) and Sunday (October 23). (October 23, 2022).
There are expected to be 11, 825 candidates competing for constituency executive positions.
Candidates are running for 7,728 positions across 276 constituencies.
