The Minority in Parliament has called for the impeachment of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
The Minority has in accordance with Article 82 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana successfully filed a motion for his immediate removal.
The Minority cited conflict of interest saying the Ministry is directly benefitting from Ghana’s economic woes.
According to them, the Minister’s companies are benefitting from commissions and unethical contractual advantage, particularly Ghana’s debt overhang, the Minority added.
They also accused him of unconstitutional withdrawals from the consolidated fund in breach of Article 178 of the 1992 Constitution.
