Former PPP National Youth Organizer Divine Nkrumah says the current state of the economy is one of hopelessness, corruption, mismanagement, and incompetence.
He has, however, urged Ghanaians, particularly the youth, not to despair.
He stated that, despite mismanaging the economy and driving Ghanaians into poverty, the current government will not remain in power indefinitely.
He urged the youth to be patient because the current government would not be in power forever.
Nkrumah Divine stated “I will encourage the youth to remain determined and hopeful. We are in a state of desperation and economic crisis. But keep in mind that this government will not last forever. They will not turn to stone and remain in power indefinitely. Maintain your resolve, remain calm, and be confident that we will reach a point where a better government will take power and turn things around “.
Meanwhile, he has expressed concern about the rate at which young people gamble.
He lamented that this kills innovation and creativity.
According to him, the rate at which young people are betting indicates that the economy is in trouble.
“Another concern I have is the rate at which betting is taking over our youth. Several young people and adults have turned to gambling. I would advise parents to keep an eye on their children, especially those under the age of 18. People have become despondent and have given up hope, turning to gambling as a means of survival. It is not ideal. We must address it.”
