Divine Nkrumah, former National Youth Organizer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), has stated that Ghana never recorded Covid-19 as we were led to believe.
According to the young politician, the government only used it to steal scarce resources and benefit from international donors.
“Let me tell you right away, Ghana did not record any Covid-19 cases,” Nkrumah said while driving. I have always maintained and stated that I do not believe Ghana recorded Covid-19 cases. People attack me when I tell them.”
The President and his appointees were constantly scaring people with the number of people killed by Covid-19. He was always warning Ghanaians to be cautious. When they told us there was Covid-19 around, the one who was warning the people was always organising parties, jamborees, rallies, and other public events. If Covid-19 really existed, these events would not have been organised. I believe the Covid-19 public broadcast and its associated activities were funded. They knew it wasn’t there, but they duped us.
They had been dishonest with the people, failing to account for the Covid-19 expenditure. As a result, they should not blame Covid-19 for the state of our economy.”
He also dismissed claims that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict had an impact on our economy.
He believes Ghana’s economic fundamentals are weak and our inept leaders have no idea, thus blaming the economic crisis on the war.”
