The National Labour Commission (NLC) has ordered the three teacher unions who declared a strike over the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as the GES boss to call it off immediately.
The NLC directed the unions to call off their strike and continue negotiations with the government.
The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations dragged the teacher unions before the NLC.
This was after the unions refused to call off their strike.
The Teacher Unions the Ghana National Association of Teachers, the National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana declared a sit-down strike on Friday, November 4, to protest the appointment of Dr Eric Nkansah as the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
They argued that Dr. Nkansah was a banker and not a professional teacher, hence they want his appointment revoked.
