Interior Minister Ambrose Dery has assured Ghanaians that the deaths associated with the 2020 elections will be investigated.
He gave the assurance while addressing a press conference on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
“We want to investigate the murders and the investigations are ongoing. The police service did not have a department that handles cold cases, but now it has. As soon as we find the people, we will deal with them, but I can assure you that we are investigating those people who were killed.”
During the election that saw President Akufo-Addo win a second term, at least five people were killed in separate violent incidents across the country.
No arrest has been made two years after the elections. But the Minister says the matter is still under investigation.
