Political analyst Mr. Boakye Yiadom has described the censure motion moved by the Minority against Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a needless exercise.
The lecturer believes the move is an exercise of futility.
He said the Minority is aware they do not have the numbers to succeed with the motion, and the Majority would not support them, hence it makes no political sense to continue with the motion.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the analyst said the motion would fail.
He also described the decision by the Speaker to refer the motion to the ad-hoc committee as needless and unconstitutional.
He said the House could have dealt with the matter in the plenary instead of referring to the matter.
”The House could have dealt with the matter. It was needless for the Speaker to refer it to the committee. I am struggling to understand why the Speaker did that. Meanwhile, I want to state that the exercise and the motion are a wasteful venture. It is needless.”
”The motion is much I do about nothing. It would not put food on our table,” he stressed.
He added that the Minister should have on a matter of principle, resigned to save himself the embarrassment.
