Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has responded to the Chronicle newspaper’s report that he is the next in line to be appointed Finance Minister.
The report, according to the lawmaker, is speculative.
He did not deny or confirm that he was being considered for the job.
Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu stated that he does not want to speculate.
He stated, “The Chronicle was imagining something. We have not finished discussing the issues surrounding Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. As a result, in the sole state that this is an imagination “.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that he did not know whether the finance minister would be removed or not, and that the publication about me being considered as the next finance minister was speculative at best.
If this occurs, the president is the appointing authority. Please excuse me for saying that the Chronicle newspaper does not have the authority to appoint a minister. A minister is not appointed by any newspaper. We’ll cross the bridge when we get there.
When asked if he would accept such a position, he was emphatic “This is purely hypothetical. We’ll cross the bridge when we get there “.
