The Koforidua Technical Institute’s Boys’ Dormitory in the Eastern Region’s New Juaben North Municipality has been destroyed by fire.
Following the outbreak, eight students have been reported injured.
The fire, which began around 11:45 p.m. on Monday, swept through four rooms before being brought under control by National Fire Service personnel and preventing further damage to other rooms.
All of the belongings of the 75 students who were affected were destroyed. Eight of those who sustained minor injuries were treated and released, with one remaining in the care of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Koforidua.
Bernard Forson, the school’s principal, has asked the general public to help the school with some relief items.
