Moses Anim, the Member of Parliament for the Trobu Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the New Patriotic Party ticket, has stated that “by and large, persons whose property has been affected by the construction of the Pokuase interchange and other auxiliary projects have been compensated.”
The legislator told Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline that the majority of the people whose homes were destroyed to make way for the interchange had their compensation.
He did, however, reveal that some people who have received their compensation are selling the land to unsuspecting victims.
He stated that some people were compensated in 2003, and the same happened in 2019 and 2020, but that some of them sold the land to other people despite knowing it was not proper.
”What is shocking is that we have discovered that some persons who received compensation for the destruction of their property are selling their land to unsuspecting victims. This pure wickedness.”
According to him, some people have legitimate concerns and have not been compensated, but in general, compensations have been paid and the project should have continued.
