The petition challenging the Techiman South parliamentary election has been dismissed by the Wenchi High Court.
The petition was filed by the opposition Democratic Congress (NDC).
The party claimed it won the Techiman South Parliamentary election but that the Electoral Commission (EC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conspired to deny it the seat.
The NDC’s suit sought to overturn the declaration of Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah as MP for Techiman South, and to declare Dr Christopher Beyere Baasongti as the legitimate winner of the Techiman South 2020 parliamentary elections.
The Court has also fined the petitioners GH¢100,000 to be shared between the MP and the Electoral Commission.
