Political analyst and sustainable development expert, Michael Ebo Amoah, is claiming that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is sitting on a time bomb.
He explained that the decision by Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to contest Chairman Ofosu Ampofo for the chairmanship position had divided the party’s front.
The party, he asserted, would have to find ways to address their differences after the national polls.
“The NDC must unite its front after the internal elections,” he said on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline.
“The departing executives are divided. They have either declared for Nketiah or Ampogo. However, we cannot guarantee what happens after that. The way they manage the relationship immediately after the elections will determine the fate of the NDC in 2024.”
He said he wonders what new Asiedu Nketiah seeks to bring on board which he could not have done in the past 18 years as General Secretary.
In his view, it would not be an easy contest for Asiedu Nketiah because Ofosu Ampofo is a strong candidate and not an easy political figure.
