The Nii Odoi Kwao Gamily of Osu has served notice of launching a series of demonstrations, picketing, and other protests against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) if President Akufo-Addo regused to sack the Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey.

Nii Odoi Kwao II, Head of Family, stated at a press conference on Sunday, December 18, 2022, that the Minister is unfit to hold public office.

An Accra Circuit Court recently granted bail to the 61-year-old retired computer programmer for allegedly slapping Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr Henry Quartey, in traffic after threatening to kill him.

Nii Odoi Kwao II, also known as Robert Koomson, was granted bail in the amount of GHS 50,000, with three sureties who are family members.

But at the press conference, he took on the Minister and accused him of using the security agencies to attack him in his family house and abuse his fundamental human rights.

According to him, the Minister and armed officers stormed his house, and vandalised his property, including a family vehicle which was later towed to the Accra Regional Police Command.

He also claimed that the Minister is using Justice Oppong Obiri, a former crime officer, as a stooge to intimidate him and his family.

He said ”this press conference is to set the record straight. There is no family on this earth and under the sun called Odoitsoo Odoi Kwao, and moving forward they have no family House. What is left for them to come and evict us here so that they move here and then they will complete their mission”.

He claimed he was placed in the most dangerous cells in Accra on the Minister’s express orders and threatened with prosecution if he ever confronted the Odotsoo Kwao Family.

He asked the Minister to offer an unqualified apology to him and his family, return the towed vehicle, p[pay for the damages caused to his property.

He gave the president, the NPP, and parliament a one-week deadline to expel the Minister or his family would take to the streets until their demands were met.

He further asked the Police to initiate processes to prosecute the Odotsoo Kwao Family for their ”nefarious activities”.

To the Ghana Bar Association, he asked them to deal with the lawyers representing the rival family.
