New Patriotic Party (NPP) former member of parliament for Manhyia North Collins Owusu Amankwaa, has described the chair got the party Stephen Ayensu Ntim as a man of principle, integrity, and a unifier.
According to him, unlike other party officials who are selfish, divisive,m greedy, and individualistic, the current NPP chair has ticked all his boxes of positivity.
The former lawmaker said he loves the demeanor of his party chair because “the way he conducts himself is respectful, affable with reconciliatory conduct. To be honest, I am very proud of him. He has not taken sides since we elected him. He is willing to bring the party together. That is my preference. I dislike national officers who are greedy and self-centered.
I dislike officers who, for the sake of money and personal gain, make unneeded endorsements that cause serious divisions. That is not my political philosophy. If you are not a principled man, a man who lacks integrity, a unifier who is greedy and selfish, you have no place near a party position.”
He told Kwabena Agyapong of Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that some party officers go around taking money from people in order to denigrate potential presidential candidates who have expressed interest.
He suggested officers who do that have no place in holding office.
”When canvassing for support to be a party officer, you asked delegates to vote for you because you would unite the party. But after the victory, you go about endorsing candidates. It doesn’t make sense. It is a betrayal of the mandate given to you. Some people are liars, they lie to win power, and after winning power, they show their true colours.”
To him, it was past time to summon such individuals to order for the sake of party unity.
