The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has revealed that 44 cases of fire outbreaks were recorded on Christmas day, yesterday, Sunday, December 25, 2022.
A statement issued by the service disclosed that 19 of the incidents were domestic, with 9 being commercial, 8 bushfires, five vehicular, and two electrical installation fires.
The Ashanti Region had the most of these incidents, followed by the Greater Accra Region.
The statement urged the public to be very cautious during the festivities till the end of the dry (harmattan) season.
It also advised the public to abide by basic fire safety practices to reduce the incidents of fire outbreaks.
