The police have arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly inflicting cutlass wounds on a 39-year-old man.
Kwabena Ebo, the victim, is currently fighting for his life at St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.
The incident in Assin Anwiasu, Assin North District, Central Region, has left people in a state of shock and disbelief.
The suspect is said to have committed the act in exchange for his child, whom he claimed to have fathered with his victim’s wife.
Eyewitnesses who spoke with Rainbow Radio’s Oheneba Ambrose said they overheard the victim screaming for help in his room around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday when he had returned from work and was about to retire to bed.
They arrived on the scene to find the victim in a pool of blood, his wrist and some of his fingers severed, and deep cuts on his head, cheek, neck, and back.
He was then rushed to Assin Fosu’s St. Francis Xavier Hospital for intensive care.
The suspect claimed to be the father of the victim’s third child.
The suspect also claimed to be dating the victim’s wife even though they were married.
