Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, the founder of Save the Nation for Future Leaders, has stated that the activities of illegal mining, are breeding criminals.
He said several foreigners from Togo, and Burkina Faso, among others, are moving into the country because of galamsey.
He lamented that terrorists are taking advantage of the illegal mining activities to travel to Ghana, and engage in it as part of their plans to engage in criminal activities.
He said we are gradually destroying our water bodies, and soon, we would be forced to import water and other food items from abroad.
”The reason why the number of criminals has increased in the country is due to the activities of illegal mining,” he stressed.
He was speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
He also posited that unemployment is a threat to a stable economy.
He defined good governance as leaders who have what it takes to keep the economy stable and, most importantly, to create long-term jobs.
