Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, Founder and Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, has challenged Dr. Patrick Asiedu, the man who claimed in an audio that some police officers planted a drug in his car, to come out and assist the Ghana Police Service with his investigations.
She noted that the allegations by the ”so-called” doctor are wild, and he [Dr. Asiedu] should go into hiding.
The Ghana Police Service is investigating an alleged planting of substance suspected to be narcotics in the car of a Ghanaian citizen.
The Police in its statement said its attention was drawn to a leaked audio in which it was alleged that some police officers planted substances suspected to be narcotics in a vehicle of a member of the public and attempted to extort money from him.
The Police added that it was also looking for the individual whose car the alleged narcotics were planted in.
Madam Daniels, in her submission, said, ”every sensible person will know that the allegations by the doctor are inconsistent and incoherent. I am not defending the Police, but the claims made by Dr. Patrick Asiedu are sketchy. I am not saying these things don’t occur. However, this particular case sounds incoherent”.
Madam Nyonkopa Daniels stated that the Police had been criticised for a number of negative reasons as a result of the activities of some bad nuts, but we cannot let this story go.
She was perplexed as to why the man had leaked the audio and refused to come out.
She urged the Police and National Security to find and arrest the man, claiming in the audio that the Police had promised to compensate him financially for the incident.
Meanwhile, she has encouraged Ghanaians to assist the Police in identifying the doctor for a handsome reward.
