The Energy Commission has banned the importation of some substandard electrical appliances and renewable energy products.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Commission.
The Commission, in the statement, explained that the ban is to prevent the country from becoming a destination for substandard goods.
The statement also stated that the ban is intended to protect the environment and citizens’ health from air pollution caused by increased power generation, as well as to protect consumers from purchasing inefficient appliances and paying excessively high electricity bills.
