An Accra Circuit Court 9 presided over Mr. Samuel Bright Acquah has once again adjourned to March 1, 2023, the case involving the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, and the Head of Nii Odoi Kwao Family, Nii Odoi Kwao II.
The adjournment was to afford the prosecutor enough time to file witness statements.
The court adjourned its last sitting on January 17, 2023, to give the prosecutor enough time to conduct investigations into the case.
On Friday, December 9, 2022, the same Circuit Court arrested and remanded Nii Odoi Kwao II into police custody for one week.
Nii Odoi Kwao II a.k.a. Robert Koomson was granted bail in the sum of GH₵50,000 with three sureties who are family members.
Charged with causing road obstruction, threat of death, assault on a public officer, and offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace, Koomson, a family head of the Minister, has pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, the accused wants the case to be expedited so that the truth can be revealed.
He hoped the case would not be delayed because that would be unwise.
He also wants a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure a fair trial.
Since then, the family has petitioned the presidency, the police, the NPP headquarters, and the Ayawaso Central constituency.
