On Thursday, February 2, 2023, the Asokore Mampong District Court granted 43 rioting students of the Krobea Asante Vocational Training Institute a two thousand cedis (Gh2,000) bail with one surety to be justified by parents or guardians.
The students were also ordered by the court, presided over by H/W Samuel Buabin Quansah, to sign bonds and report to the Effiduase-Asokore Police Station once a week with their parents or guardians.
The student suspects have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, rioting, causing unlawful damage, and stealing.
The Senior Prefect of Asante Kroabea T-VET and three others were arrested by police in the Effiduase district command, bringing the total number of suspects to 43.
The case has been adjourned until March 2, 2023.
