Mr. Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga West, says the New Patriotic Party must stop suspending party members in the constituency.
According to him, there are other ways the party could deal with issues concerning party members instead of suspensions.
He lamented that such decisions would not help the party, especially going into the 2024 general elections.
He was responding to questions on what he was doing to hold the constituency together.
In his response, he said, ”I have to hold Amasaman for years. If I had not held Amasaman, we would not have won the 2020 general elections. I have held Amasaman since 2011…if a constituency started suspending people from the polling stations, we should stop those things. There are better ways to deal with people instead of suspensions. We will not lose Amasaman forever and ever”.
When asked if he planned to run in the parliamentary primaries, he was evasive and did not say whether he would or would not.
He was also evasive and refused to say who he would prefer to be elected as the presidential candidate.
