Former President John Dramani Mahama has met with the Minority in Parliament to officially inform them of his intention to contest the presidential primaries in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Mahama made the formal announcement when he met with the Minority caucus at his Cantonment office on Tuesday.
All NDC MPs in Parliament have unanimously endorsed John Dramani as flagbearer.
Present at the meeting were former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, former NDC Campaign Manager for the 2020 general elections, Professor Joshua Alabi and former Information Minister, Kofi Totobi Quakyi.
It is expected that the former President will make a public declaration in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Dr. Clement Apaak, the Builsa South MP says they are prepared to support the former president.
He tweeted after the MPs gas met with the former President.
His tweet read “JM met with us, NDC MPs, earlier today (21/2/2023) at his office. He informed us of his intention to contest to be Flagbearer of the NDC and ultimately the Presidency. We assured him of our full and unflinching support.”
