New Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton has pledged to spend more time in Ghana and will pay more attention to the Ghana premier league ( local league )during his tenure as the head Coach of the Black Stars
He was reacting to a concern that most expatriate coaches previously do not stay in the country and do not monitor players domestically,
“I will be spending more time in Ghana. I will be watching many games. I am constantly being made aware of players who are doing well”. he responded.
“I will be paying more attention to the GPL games because it is important that we have a strong league”. he added.
Chris Hughton made the statement known during his unveiling by the Ghana Football Association in Kumasi
Chris Hughton will officially play his first game on Thursday 23 March 2023 in an AFCON qualifier game against Angola in Kumasi.
