Osei Paddy, a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) publicity team, has stated that Ghanaians have usually regretted voting for the ruling New Patriotic Party and are yearning for the NDC’s return.
He believes it makes no difference if former President John Dramani Mahama is elected as the NDC’s presidential candidate.
He was responding to a query on why the party’s delegates and executives had unanimously endorsed former President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Mahama is now on a campaign tour in the Eastern region.
He was greeted with cheers and revelry.
Mr. Paddy responded to the question by saying that Mr. Mahama is the first candidate to visit the area, thus delegates and party supporters coming to meet him is not unusual.
“The NDC is a democratic party, and Mr. Mahama is the only one who has been on the constituency,” he remarked on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm. He is a previous president, and we are familiar with his record. We know what he’s capable of.
The main message is that Ghanaians are fed up with the NPP. They have failed to follow through on their pledges. Ghanaians had faith in them and gave them a chance, but this ‘somishwe’ government has failed miserably. The NPP promised Ghanaians hope by promising one district, one factory, one community, and one dam. But, as far as we can tell, they have failed to deliver.
Ghanaians have tried both parties and need to know who is far superior and more capable of managing Ghana. The NPP is in its seventh year, yet they have nothing to show for it. If you look at what is going on, you will see that Ghanaians support the NDC. Ghanaians are suffering greatly, and we are hoping that the NPP will be voted out of office. Ghanaians will not make the same tragic error of voting for the NPP again.”
