Kpando Heart of Lions has gained promotion to play in the Ghana Premier League next season after being crowned the Champions of Division One Zone Three league, even with five more games to end the season.
Communications director of the club, Eric Elly Abezie in an interview with Rainbow Radio, said the club was determined, mentally, psychologically and financially prepared to secure promotion after losing qualification to Kotoku Royals last season.
“We were very determined, knowing that where we finished last season was a very good outing and that a little put could actually get us to the Premiership, and that is the mentality that we brought into this season.” So we were mentally, physically, psychologically, and financially prepared to get the qualification, and it came as no surprise that we did, and everyone is happy.”
Eric Elly Abezie believes that the support from management and fans was enough motivating win the league and get the qualification.
“If you look at how management and the fans were rallied behind the team, it was enough motivation to win the league even before the season even ended”, he added.
Hearts of Lions have been a powerhouse when it comes to Ghana Football, qualifying for the first time in 2003.
The club was relegated in the 2014/15 season and will now make their return to the Premiership after eight years.
