Customers of the Nkwanta South Rural Bank stormed the bank on Monday, May 29, 2023, demanding their savings.
The dissatisfied clients claim that they have attempted but failed to withdraw their savings from the bank for the previous month.
They claimed that the current manager continued making excuses for why they couldn’t take their deposits.
Rainbow Radio’s Samali Abdul Razak reported from the scene that people stormed the bank and demanded the release of their deposits.
To them, the new manager who had taken over had been a disaster.
“We haven’t been able to withdraw our savings since April,” one of them explained. In the past, that was the car. It began when the new manager was appointed. When we went to withdraw, the new manager continued making excuses for us. We’re a few people that want our money.”
Another stated, “For the past month, there has been a new person who has stated that he is now the new manager.” When we come to withdraw our funds for business, the new manager informs us that there is no money.”
It necessitated the involvement of Nkwanta police to remove the manager.
