Coach Kasim Mingle Ocansey of Bechem United has made a dig at Bibiani Gold Stars’ Abedenago Tetteh.
The Premier League coach believes the player deserves to be termed a goal king even though he does not score original goals.
He believes that any great striker and player must always score goals on their own strength.
However, Abenego Tetteh cannot score goals on his own.
The Betpawa Premier League season is coming to an end, and the race for the title and battle for relegation remains unclear unless the final games determine.
The top scorer chart was another hotly contested area, but Bibiani Gold’s Abednego Tetteh has now scored 18 goals to lead the top scorer chart, leaving Bechem United’s Hafiz Wontah Konkoni in second place.
The coach was asked if Hafiz Konkoni’s goal king race was finished now that Abednego Tetteh had passed him.
In response, the coach stated that the team Bechem United wants their player Konkoni to use his strength to score goals, but not easy goals, and that the top scorer chart is not their priority as a team, but that if Abedenago Tetteh is good, he should use his strength to score goals to prove he is the best.
He further said is not necessary he has to win the goal king at all costs.
He was speaking to Fantastic K Gee on Rainbow Sports.
“He should use his strength to score goals.” He should not rely on others to score goals. If he professes to be a top scorer, he should use his strength to score goals. We scored two great goals in our last game, but the referee refused to recognise them. It is not our priority right now. We don’t have to win the top goal scorer position at any cost. Our player did not start with us, but Abednego started with his team throughout the league, thus comparing him to our player is not fair. He should score goals on his own strength and not rely on others.”
