The communications manager for Bibiani Gold Stars, Samuel Kwegyire, has responded to Bechem United’s Coach Mingel Ocansey’s claims that Ghana’s premier league top scorer Abednego Tetteh does not score original goals and believes the player should score goals on his own strength.
“It was his opinion, and everyone will have their opinion, but everyone who has monitored Abednego Tetteh from day one after joining GoldStars will learn that the player is a very good striker and a clinical finisher,” he said on Rainbow Sports in response to the claims. His goals came from his own strength; he leads the top scorers’ chart solely because of his own hard work.”
“Perhaps the claims stem from the fact that Abednego Tetteh couldn’t perform at his precious clubs but is excelling at GoldStars in a short period of time, which is why we should applaud Coach Michael Osei for his tactical brilliance, whose impact has seen Abednego Tetteh perform at GoldStars.”
Before joining Gold Stars, Abednego Tetteh played for Kumasi-based King Faisal, where he scored two goals in 11 games before leaving the ‘Insha Allah’ boys.
With two goals against Karela United in week 33 of the Ghana Premier League, Abednego Tetteh now leads the top scorers’ chart with 18 goals, one more than Bechem United’s Hafiz Konkoni.
