Some traders impacted by a severe downpour at the Awutu Bawjiase market have announced a ‘do or die’ victory for the area’s Member of Parliament, Gizella Tetteh Agotui.
According to the businessmen, the MP came through for them after a strong downpour wrecked their market shelters and injured several of them.
Last week, fifteen people were injured as a result of a tragedy at the Awutu Bawjiase market following severe rain.
A tree in the market toppled after rainfall on Tuesday, June 9th 2023, trapping numerous traders and their children beneath their sheds.
As a result, the area’s National Democratic Congress member of parliament, Hon.Gizella Agbtui Tetteh, paid visits to all 15 victims in Bawjiase, Swedru, and Winneba Trauma hospitals and paid their medical fees.
She also took steps to get all of the wrecked sheds restored.
The traders who witnessed the gesture referred to her as ‘Obaatanpa,’ which translates as “Good Mother.”
They prayed to God for her success in the 2024 parliamentary election.
Madam Matilda Sokpor, the woman organiser for Awutu Senya West who represented the MP, said when the honourable learned about the incident, she became worried and swiftly to the area.
She stated that the MP paid all of the injured people’s medical bills and went above and beyond to cover the price of reconstruction.ig the wrecked sheds of the affected vendors.
