Bibiani GoldStars forward Abednego Tetteh, who emerged as the top scorer of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League season after netting 18 goals this term, has expressed disappointment in not getting called up into the national team.
When asked if he suspected foul play since he was not called to the team despite being the highest goal scorer, he said, ”You, the media, have seen what has happened. I don’t know what to say. Let people speculate on whether or not there was foul play. I have nothing to say about it.”
The team’s coach was responsible for calling or inviting players. He has done so. He continued, “I was not called, and there is nothing I can do about it.”
”Let the public speculate. For the time being, I am still waiting to be called. But it’s fine if I’m not called. I don’t have a problem with that,” he said on Rainbow Sports.
When pressed further and asked if he was disappointed, the player replied, ”As human as I am, I would say I am still waiting to be called. I would not be disappointed if I was not called.”
According to him, one does not have to play for the senior team at all costs in order to be considered a great or renowned player.
