A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was killed in an accident in Assin North.
The deceased was among a group of party supporters who were attending a campaign event before the constituency’s by-election.
Former President John Dramani Mahama was present at the ceremony.
The presidential candidate had to pause his campaign to console the grieving family and those injured.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Mahama wrote I have had to suspend my campaign in Assin North for about 2hrs, this afternoon, to visit injured sympathizers who were involved in an accident after our engagement at Dansame.
Unfortunately, we lost one of our comrades who enthusiastically joined others to the programme. Our condolences to her family. I will be leading the party to visit the family of the deceased to commiserate with them.”
