The Big Brother Titans winner, Khosi Twala,
has described South Africa as the safest nation for journalists to work.
According to her, South Africa is a democratic country where residents understand and value their rights.
According to the journalist, influencer, and former model, the country also has free expression, which is enjoyed by everyone, whether they are journalists or not.
She did say, though, that while there is freedom of speech, you should be respectful of other people’s feelings.
Khosi was replying to a question about how safe it was to work as a journalist in South Africa.
“South Africa is a democratic country. People know their rights, and they emphasise them. We have freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is a right, but you have to be considerate of other people’s feelings. But we have freedom of speech. Even if you are not a journalist, you are allowed to express yourself. That is why it is not as hard or harsh as any other country. That is why I enjoyed it and wanted to pursue it.”
Journalism is about holding politicians accountable, and doing so is how we can keep the economy running.
She was speaking with Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM.
