Renowned football administrator Mr. Jonathan Abbey Pobee has stated emphatically that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is now the third Political Party in the country, aside from the NPP and NDC.
This comes after former GFA Vice President George Afriyie declared his intention to run in the next GFA elections.
The astute football administrator believes that GFA has evolved into a political party, which is why people like George Afriyie want to run for president.
He told Rainbow Radio, “I’m not surprised, and I don’t even care because the GFA is now a complete political party and anyone can come out to contest.”
Again, Abbey Pobe believes that George Afriyie and Kurt Okraku lack competence and do not deserve to lead the Football Association.
“I have stated on numerous occasions following the nomination period that neither George Afriyie nor the current GFA President Kurt Okraku deserve to lead the GFA; their competence is low.” They don’t have anything to offer.
The election date will be announced at the GFA’s 29th Extraordinary Congress on July 10 in Kumasi.
