The Attorney-General has expressed worry over comments made by 6the Dormaahene on the need for him to withdraw the criminal case brought up against Assin North MP-elect James Gyalye Quayson.
Dormaahene Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, a traditional leader as well as a high court judge, asked the A-G to withdraw the case.
On July 1, he made the appeal during the John Evans Atta Mills 10th Anniversary Commemorative Lecture in Sunyani.
But responding, the A-G stated that his office will issue a comprehensive statement in response to all of the concerns raised.
According to him, such remarks could have an impact on the fair adjudication of the case.
He went on to say that any remarks that undermine the administration of justice are harmful and should not be tolerated.
“I will come out with a proper statement on the matter and it will be in respect of all comments generally which have the tendency to subvert the administration of justice, I think that it is very unhealthy for our democratic dispensation and we must not countenance same.”
