A two-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after a devastating blaze engulfed a home in Cantonments, Accra, on Sunday, September 20.
The victim was trapped inside the property, situated near Susanna Lodge, when the fire erupted. Rescue teams from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) later recovered her body at the scene.
Confirming the tragedy in a Facebook post, GNFS Assistant Divisional Officer Alex King Nartey stated that investigations into the cause of the inferno are ongoing.
The toddler’s remains have been transferred to the Cantonments Police Command for necessary legal and forensic procedures.
