Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a presidential candidate contender, has requested party delegates to elect him as the party’s 2024 presidential candidate because he is the only one who can keep the NPP in power.
Among all the other aspirants who have indicated interest in the contest, the former commerce and industry minister pitched himself as the only one who could win the national election.
As part of his Greater Accra Regional visit, he appealed to party delegates in various constituencies.
He claims to have a high approval rating in the four areas, which will help him win more votes for the NPP in the national elections.
He met with delegates from the constituencies of Prampram, Ada, and Sege.
As part of the cluster engagements, party delegates from the Madina, Adentan, and Shai Osudoku constituencies descended to Accra’s University for Professional Studies, where Mr Kyerematen addressed them.
“I am the only one that can win Greater Accra, Central, Western and Volta Regions for the NPP as the people of these regions are rooting for me to become the flagbearer of the NPP in 2024.”
“As I said, delegates must not only look at their personal benefit but the wider interest of members who put them there,” he said.
Mr Kyerematen also urged delegates to vote for a candidate who was concerned about the members’ well-being.
When granted the nod to lead the party to victory in the national election, he promised to improve the welfare and possibilities for constituency executives.
He said that he was the only NPP political figure capable of diluting the votes of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta area due to his appeal to the people of that region.
