The 29th Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved the proposed 900% increase in the filing fee for the presidential and other positions.
Without any opposition from the delegate present at the congress, the increment was approved today, Monday, July 10, 2023.
The GFA Elections Committee recommended the fee increase, citing the high cost of election administration.
In a recent statement, the GFA set the presidential election fee at GHC50,000.
The increase is 900% higher than the GHC5,000 charged in the previous elections in 2019.
