A mother has cursed the Ghana Police Service for the murder of five suspected land guards in Bortianor, Ga South Municipality.

Madam Odeibea went almost naked and cursed the Service, particularly those who allegedly shot her children.

The woman is said to have lost two of her children in the June 8, 2023 incident.

She could not have gone unnoticed as she walked into a nearby waterway, bare chest and foot, wearing black shorts.

She was crying and holding a bottle of alcohol and some eggs as she cursed the IGP and the Ghana police service, according to Rainbow Radio’s Oheneba Ademah.

Meanwhile, the Gyaasehene, who also serves as the family’s spokesperson, Nii Djan Kommey Kofi III, asked President Akufo-Addo and the IGP to intervene immediately to avoid future clashes with the police.

They were dressed in red and black and chanted war songs in protest of the police’s actions.

At Bortianor, the victims were shot while participating in an anti-robbery and land guard operation.

According to a statement from the police, the suspects had been terrorising and upsetting homeowners and residents of Bortianor and neighbouring communities.

However, the residents and affected families have disputed these assertions, claiming that the victims weren’t land guards.
