Renowned Ghanaian marketer and broadcaster Stephen Darko Odame has expressed interest in contesting the Asuogyaman constituency seat.
The marketer with several years of experience in communication, Public relations, and journalism will contest as an independent candidate.
Mr. Odame, who is originally from Gyakiti, stated that his desire to run for MP for the constituency stems from a desire to serve his people.
He claimed that the constituents had not received their fair share of the national cake and that after several years in office, the two major political parties had delivered nothing but selfishness, neglect, and greed to the people.
He has promised to use his position as a Member of Parliament to advocate for projects and other initiatives that will propel the country towards growth, progress, and stability.
Poor roads were identified as one of the major challenges impeding the area’s progress, and this administration, as well as previous ones, have failed to demonstrate what it takes to transform the constituency.
”I will serve the people,” he told Rainbowradiooline.com. I am not running in the race for selfish reasons. MPs are required to serve as public servants. That is why I have made it my mission to serve the people. We have seen neglect and greed from the NDC and NPP over the years. When the Electoral Commission opens nominations in 2024, I will run as an independent candidate.
I’m asking my constituents to vote for me and elect me as their MP. I understand their dissatisfaction with the two major parties. I promise them leadership in service, sacrifice, and growth.”
