Ablekuma Central chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bismark Boateng, says the party must come out more formidable after the election of its presidential candidate.
He said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not a party that must be given another opportunity to govern the country.
He explained that the processes for the superdelegates conference have been free, fair, and transparent, and if they continue until the November primary, the party will come out more formidable.
”We anticipate that the NPP will emerge as a formidable party following the presidential primary. We want a strong and united party that can maintain power. The NDC is not a party that should be given another chance to govern. If the NDC wins any election, it means that the NPP did something wrong, and we must work hard to ensure that the party wins the 2024 elections.”
He asserted that breaking the 8 mantra is a difficult task, and that party supporters who believe the NPP will easily win the 2024 elections are delusory.
”Breaking the 8-year jinx will not be easy. If we want to remain in power in 2024, we must work hard as a party. I am a trader, so I understand what Ghanaian traders are saying. The NPP requires a candidate who can be well-marketed and win the presidential election in 2024. We must remain united and combat voter apathy.”
He made the remarks during an interview with Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm’s Frontline.
