Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, has revealed that he turned down an opportunity to become Ghana’s Sports Minister.
According to him, he declined the appointment because he felt the time was not right for him to accept the position of minister.
In an exclusive interview on Frontline, he disclosed his appointment but did not reveal the regime under which it was given.
He stated that he would only accept the position of sports minister if he believed the time was appropriate.
He was responding to the question of whether he was prepared to accept an appointment as Sports Minister.
In his response, Mr. Nunoo Mensah said, ”We are serving the country, and so if the time is right and the condition is right, why not? We are all serving the country. But this is not something I have given much thought to”.
”I had that opportunity before, but at that time, I felt the time wasn’t right. When the time is right and I am appointed, I will accept it,” he added.
