President of the Ghana Olympic Committee Ben Nunoo Mensah says any agenda to construct a specialised stadium for the organisation of para games is something he will always support.
The President argued that para-sports require not only specialized stadiums but also special facilities.
He stated that accessing the sporting facilities for para-sports in Ghana is sometimes a challenge, and if there was a way we could invest in such facilities, it would go a long way to making para sports better.
He was responding to a question on the financial viability of investing in a sports or paragames-focused stadium.
Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah highlighted the significant talent in para games and the potential for significant growth through investment.
He identified potential talents in Para games, specifically basketball, and described a great game he witnessed.
He also mentioned skate football, saying that it is a game in which we could invest.
”Ghana has a competitive advantage, and if we can invest in para-sports and develop the players, they will raise the flag of Ghana high at the international level. As a result, I support the idea of investing in a parasports facility. If we are successful, it will aid in the development of parasports,” he said on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm.
