Former Manchester City midfielder, Gelson Fernandes believes Ghana has the potential to win the FIFA World Cup.
According to Gelson Fernandes, who is now Director of Member Associations for Africa, the Black Stars have the potential, and they only need the right commitment and hard work.
Gelson Fernandes made this claim while speaking at the Elective Congress of the Ghana Football Association in Tamale on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
‘’Having spoken to some of my mates like Kwadwo Asamoah, Agyemang Badu, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, and co., they all believe that Ghana has the potential to win the World Cup. But we need to do more; we need to push the machine, and we need to work hard to make that dream a reality’’
‘’Let’s continue to show commitment to make our football great again,’’ he added.
The Black Stars have made four appearances in the FIFA World Cup, with their best being a quarter-final finish in the 2010 edition hosted by South Africa.
