The United Kingdom and Ireland Chairman of the Progressive People’s Party, Kit Yawson, says what is currently going on in Ghana under the governing New Patriotic Party is extremely disturbing for every Ghanaian.
According to him, he is disappointed as a Ghanaian considering the leadership that President Akufo-Addo has discharged so far.
Mr. Yawson said, ”speaking as a Ghanaian and not as a politician, I am disappointed. I did not expect the NPP to do what they are doing now. This is not about politics. I’m talking as a Ghanaian”.
He expressed disappointment that despite facing significant crises, the government’s primary focus was on retaining power in 2024.
”This is very sad. The problem we have in Ghana is serious, so why should we focus on who becomes the next president in an election that is expected to be held in 2024? The government and its appointees are not making sense. Whatever they say is rubbish talk. I am talking in the name of Ghana.”
”The NPP has failed us. They have failed to deliver on their promises. They are not doing anything. The one district, one factory policy has failed. Kennedy Agyapong has told us that the NPP appointees are stealing from us. What about the year of roads? They have failed us, and yet, they are going about planning to break the 8-year jinx.”
He made the comments during a conversation with Dr. Ren, the host of Drive Talk on Rainbow Radio 92.4Fm in the UK.
