The Chief Executive Officer of the Mina Breast Cancer Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwateng, has called on the government of Ghana to provide machines that will help curb breast cancer in the country.
Ibrahim Oppong Kwateng said even the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, which is the biggest government health facility in the country, lacks the requisite machines needed for breast cancer treatment.
He urged the government to step up because people who could have lived despite having breast cancer are dying on a daily basis because the machines are inadequate and the existing ones are faulty.
“We are not the only ones complaining about the inadequate machines needed for breast cancer treatment in this country. People die if the machines are faulty or handy.”
“The breast cancer treatment machines have spoiled, and when you go to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, it is the worst, and we have to do something about this as a country because it is embarrassing,” he said in an interview with Accra-based Rainbow Radio.
