Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru, a communication team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is not perturbed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s election as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
On Saturday, November 4, 2023, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was elected as the NPP’s flagbearer to face off with former President John Dramani Mahama, who will once again represent the NDC in the polls.
With some NPP members claiming that the NDC wanted Kennedy Agyapong because they were afraid of a Bawumia and Mahama contest, Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru said the 2024 elections will be determined by Ghanaians in general and not delegates.
“Why should we be afraid that the NPP has elected their flagbearer when the elections will be determined by Ghanaians in general and not only NPP delegates? Ghanaians will ask salient questions and make an informed decision come December 7, 2024.”
“Ghanaians know what Mahama did with the small loan he took and what Akufo-Addo and the NPP have done by borrowing twice of Ghana’s total debt before he assumed office.
Ghanaians also know the standard of living currently as what happened under the NDC,” Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru said, as aired by Rainbow Radio Accra.
