8 people were killed, including a baby, after an accident on the Akroso-Asamankese road

Eight people have been reported dead after an accident that happened on the Akroso-Asamankese road in the Central Region.

While eight of the passengers have been declared dead, the others have sustained various degrees of dangerous injuries and are currently at the hospital receiving urgent health care.

The accident occurred on Sunday, November 12, 2023, involving a white Toyota Hiace with registration number GM 3150-13 carrying about fifteen passengers from Bantama, a suburb of Akim Akroso in Asene, Manso Akroso district of the Eastern region.

The Toyota Hiace collided with a Pontiac Vibe private car with registration number GG 3528-14 travelling from Asamankese to Achiase.

The passengers who lost their lives after the accident, which included children, died on the spot when the locals went to the scene to rescue them while the others were rushed to the hospital.
